This is actually a POEM that I just recently wrote for a submission for a Poetry Writing Competition in my school. I based it off of a poem that I wrote a few days ago in my sketchbook, and it's dedicated to my godmother/aunty. :)
P.S. This version is the one for the competition--they're a little bit different. And if you don't know what the poem's about, I'll explain later on.
Rage-induced tears fill the sky.
What has he done and why?
Against the brokenness we defy.
Nothing sent can harm our lives.
Down by the palace garden lay I.
Here the cooling breeze blows by.
Birds of faith and hope take off and fly.
Settle down here even in the heart of night.
The wind blows by in the daylight.
Cheery clouds of love say 'hi'.
I hope and wish that there's no goodbye.
And the birds chirp merrily--now it's time.
The trial is passed with unending time.
It suffocates me so I can choke and die.
What would happen to the love of my life?
When it wasn't his mistake to take me and fly?
So after this journey where faith lies.
I hope you're not cowered, deep in fright.
For in every day, there's always night.
And yet in every dark, there's always light.
--Day And Night, Poetry
Did you like it? It's kind of inspired by a painting, which was the theme for the competition. I came up with this story about a girl eloping with a guy who is a commoner, and is therefore not allowed to be in love with the princess of the state. Now, they've been caught and he's sent for a trial. If you didn't understand the poem the first time, go back now and read it again. I thought I made sure to include subtle hints of the story in there. ;)
